This swimming hole is much easier to get to because it’s along the freeway & there is much more parking. Several groups just post up along the river. You can kind of see the flat area in the below photo & there are also a few benches & tables around the parking lot area. There are also stairs to get down to the river.
We didn’t hang out along the river under the bridge, but we did go to one of the trails that lead to Clark’s Swimming Hole. The trailhead to Clark’s Swimming Hole is a few feet away from the parking lot.

This waterfall wasn’t on our list, but it happened to be on the way to one of our other locations we were heading towards.
If you drive 10 minutes past Yankee Jim’s Bridge, you’ll see this waterfall come up on the right hand side.

Jeremiah & I finally found the time to go exploring again 😭 It has been a whirlwind these past couple of months. It’s nice finally being able to spend a weekend to explore without feeling worried about anything.
We have a list of places we want to explore &, luckily, his parent’s live somewhat close to some on our list. We were able to knock out more than one this weekend.
One of the places that was new to us was Yankee Jim’s Bridge, also known as Colfax-Foresthill Bridge.
There is very little parking, so I highly suggest trying to get here early. We arrived around 1 PM & we were able to find a spot. You can park on either end of the bridge.
Yankee Jim’s Bridge hovers right over the North American River. Check out how beautiful the water looks 😍

The other weekend, Jeremiah, my brother, my brother’s girlfriend, & I went to the Presidio Picnic in, well, the Presidio in SF!
Jeremiah & I had never been, but my brother told us about it & already had a prior experience of the event.
They have several food vendors & food trucks all lined up in one area. There is some seating & plenty of grass to set up your own tent, chairs, mats, or picnic blankets. There are also a few activities, two bars, & a few smaller food vendors around the area.
Jeremiah & I really wanted to go for Hotbird. My brother mentioned it prior to our visit. It’s almost like Howlin’ Rays in Southern California & it was good, but we still thought Howlin’ Rays was better.

My brother’s girlfriend + her siblings threw a surprise luau party for their mom’s 50th birthday the other weekend. Jeremiah & I had the pleasure of attending!
We dressed up for the occasion in floral/Hawaiian themed attire & the majority of the guests did too 🌺

Even though Game of Thrones ended, I’m still allowed to talk about it, right? I wasn’t able to keep up with this blog while the show was still airing, but that’s okay because the show is over & despite all the backlash the last season received from some fans, it’s still one of my favorite shows.
While the last season was still airing, I was actually able to cop the Game of Thrones x Urban Decay makeup pallete. I even promised myself that I wouldn’t buy any new makeup this year unless it was to refill anything that I already have, but I still had a Sephora gift card that my brother got for me last year, so I thought, well, why not use it!

Last month, Jeremiah & I went to a wedding in Walnut Grove & it was so cute & intimate!
It was at the Grand Island Mansion & it’s a little off the road. It felt so private & secluded for a wedding.
There was a room for guests to grab a plate of food & more! It had Beauty & the Beast vibes.
