Haley’s Baptism+1st Birthday Celebration x Photo Booth

Last weekend was my niece’s Baptism & 1st birthday celebration.
I had the pleasure of setting up a photo booth for the event. I did run into some minor mistakes, but it’s okay because in order to learn & grow, you have to make mistakes, right? I still had fun trying to play around with it. I need a few more test runs & more experience with it.

Thanks for letting me do this Hanna!

Personal Tips:

  • Bring extension cords! I remembered a few days before the event that I may need extension cords, but it completely slipped my mind. Overall, I didn’t have to use any of my umbrella lighting at all because there was plenty of light entering the hall, but it’s still good to have them just in case.
  • Invest in more props. Thankfully my sister gave me additional props because I don’t think I had enough “fun” ones to choose from. I’m still working on it.
  • Face the reality that the white sheet is just going to get dirty
  • Tablet freezing. The tablet screen froze a couple of times during the event, but I think it’s because I haven’t really figured it all out yet. I haven’t really had time to play with it or had experience with the device once it’s synced up to my camera.

Madison’s Baptism Reception

Last weekend was my niece’s Baptism & I had the pleasure of making a Minnie Mouse themed Photo Booth for the reception. The Photo Booth originally just had white polka dots, but Marc & Sarah suggested I make it with Mickey ears, so I changed it & it ended up looking way better (thumbs up)!
My family & I don’t take many pictures during family parties anymore, so doing the Photo Booth has been another cool way of making memories. The first one I did was for my sister’s Baby Shower which was fun too, but I made a few mistakes the first time which made my experience doing this second one a lot easier & better, but I’m still learning! (:

It seemed like everyone had fun with it! Thanks Rachel for giving me the opportunity to do this. It was really fun & I was receiving so many nice compliments over it (crying emoji!!!).

Here are the pictures from the Photo Booth I made for Madison’s Baptism Reception.

I re-edited these ones vs. the ones I posted on my Facebook.

Surprise Baby Shower x LET THEM EAT CAKE

On Saturday my family & I celebrated a Surprise Baby Shower for my sister which I had been planning the entire month of January. It was a success! She was definitely surprised. I had this feeling she knew because maybe she saw the baby shower decorations I’ve been hiding in my room or something, but she had no idea! ^_^

This is the first party that I’ve ever had to plan & it turned out well considering the extreme difficulty I had to go through of trying to plan this baby shower when my sister doesn’t like the color pink. & all the places I was looking for baby shower stuff was just PINK. Ahhhhh. lol. I tried going for Sofia Coppola’s film “Marie Antoinette”/Edwardian color scheme. I tried my absolute best. Everyone said it turned out real cute & that I did a good job. It made me feel really great about something that I was pretty much thrown into the fire to do. I’ve never planned something like this, but I honestly couldn’t have done any of it without the help from everyone. I can’t take full credit for it. I have to give credit where credit is due! I just had the idea & blueprint of how I wanted things to be/look, but everything came together because of all the help I had.

Thank you guys for all the help. I really do appreciate it. I couldn’t have pulled this off without any of you♥
Thank you Rachel, Ate, & Jen for doing the baby shower games, prizes, & contribution towards the baby shower. I appreciate the time you all took to provide feedback when I was struggling!
Thank you Jer for being there for the emotional, for helping me plan this, for taking me to a ton of spots to buy items, for the macarons, mason jars, & cake tiers.
Thank you Fro for helping me with the cake! It turned out real well!
Thank you Marc for helping me get the cake pops & helping me set up the Photobooth back drop.
Thank you Sharina for taking the time out of your day to make the banner!
Thank you Randy for making the cupcakes. It fit really well with the color scheme. & thank you for helping me set up the streamers the night before.
Thank you to everyone who brought the food.
& thank you Jon & Auntie Caring for letting us host it at the house!

I was hesitant about the Photobooth because it was a lot of extra work doing the whole back drop by myself & getting props, but I’m glad I went through & did it because it was fun! My family & I don’t usually do or have Photobooth fun stuff like this ^_^
