90s Experience

Jeremiah & I were lucky enough to grab tickets for the 90s Experience pop-up art museum in Oakland before they closed, but I found out recently that they’re re-opening again because of popular demand! I think they’re set to open sometime later this month.

Upon entering, the host quizzes you to see how well you really know the 90s. Jeremiah got his question right, but I got mine wrong!

Our First Time Together at the De Young Museum

A few months ago, my sister was kind enough to gift me with free tickets to the De Young Museum. I swore I had only been once before, but she is adamant that she had taken me here many years ago.

This was Jeremiah & I’s first time here together. We have gone to it’s neighboring California Academy of Sciences a few times, but never here.

We went in the morning, but not early enough to score free parking, unfortunately. The earlier you arrive, the better so you don’t have to park in the underground garage.

Lake Folsom

A few weeks ago some friends & I took a pontoon out on Lake Folsom. Initially, we planned to go camping in the area too, but plans changed. I still had fun nonetheless! It’s one of my summer highlights for sure.

We got a pontoon that had this small deck at the top to jump off of right into the lake, but it was too hot to hangout up there 🛥

Almost everyone got a turn riding in the back with the floatie. I also brought two of my own floaties. I also have a huge unicorn floatie that I regret not packing.

Disneyland: A Trip to Star Wars Galaxy’s Edge

Ever since the announcement that Disneyland would be getting a Star Wars land, Jeremiah has been super adamant & stoked to go. I feel like since Jeremiah & I have often gone to Disneyland over the years, I didn’t realize it had been over a year since we’ve been back. The prices have also increased over the years, so we didn’t want to go back until Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge was finished. They’re still working on the land’s second ride which I’ve heard is going to open up in January. We still wanted to see what new attractions the park had to offer since our last visit.

Alameda County Fair

I never got the chance to post about the Alameda County Fair in time, but I think it’s long gone now for the season. Going to the fair is one of my favorite summer traditions. Jeremiah had mentioned 2 weeks ago that we should check out the California State Fair & we were going to, but I backed out last minute because I just felt extremely restless. Maybe we’ll try to check it out next year.

Over the weekend, Jeremiah & I saw Lin-Manuel Miranda’s Hamilton. I bought the tickets for Jeremiah back in October as an anniversary present since I knew we wouldn’t have time to celebrate our actual anniversary next month. Plus, he really wanted to see it 2 years ago, but they were sold out when we tried. Better late than never!

We stayed right in the heart of Union Square at The Westin St. Francis for just a night since we were already in the area for a project I had to do. We also didn’t want to drive all the way back home since the musical was going to end late.
