I never got the chance to post about the Alameda County Fair in time, but I think it’s long gone now for the season. Going to the fair is one of my favorite summer traditions. Jeremiah had mentioned 2 weeks ago that we should check out the California State Fair & we were going to, but I backed out last minute because I just felt extremely restless. Maybe we’ll try to check it out next year.
Over the weekend, Jeremiah & I saw Lin-Manuel Miranda’s Hamilton. I bought the tickets for Jeremiah back in October as an anniversary present since I knew we wouldn’t have time to celebrate our actual anniversary next month. Plus, he really wanted to see it 2 years ago, but they were sold out when we tried. Better late than never!
We stayed right in the heart of Union Square at The Westin St. Francis for just a night since we were already in the area for a project I had to do. We also didn’t want to drive all the way back home since the musical was going to end late.
A few days ago my sister & I checked out the Monet exhibit at the De Young Museum in SF.
They exhibit is only here until end of May & it’s definitely worth checking out if you’re interested in Monet’s work!
Monet was diagnosed with cataracts in 1912. He was left with only 10% of his vision in his left eye & was legally blind in his right. During this time, he began painting indoors on large canvases as opposed to his most notable work on smaller canvases that he would carry to his water lily pond.
Good morning! There’s so much work that needs to get done today, but I want to blog first since it’s still early.
Yesterday, Jeremiah & I finally used our passes to go snowboarding. We bought them in early February because we had two planned trips that didn’t work out because of all the snowstorms that were happening.
We drove straight to Sierra-at-Tahoe from Sacramento & it only took us an hour & 30 min. vs. 10 hours!!!! That’s how long it normally should take 😩
My sister had visited the museum when it was in LA & mentioned that it does seem to have less popularity than the other ones she had experienced & heard of.
You can buy tickets online through their website & they also have deals for students, teachers, seniors, military, etc. To purchase the tickets with the discount, you have to purchase them in person at their front desk.
Also, expect parking to suck as it is right across Pier 39 which is one of SF’s popular tourist spots.
What should’ve been a fun weekend in the snow with the kids ended up being a total bust.
I feel awful about
how the weekend went
being sick in bed with a really bad fever
We all ended up being stuck on the mountain for 10 hours because of accidents that kept occurring. We stopped by Sacramento to get our snowboards & food. Once we got there, we looked at our maps & it said it would take 3-4 hours to get to Tahoe, which ended up being a totally false because of all the accidents that kept happening. I think one of the reasons traffic was flowing real slow was because cars were driving in one lane when there were two.
A new pop-up art museum/installation came up in the Bay Area sometime in December. My sister told Jeremiah & I about it, but we were so busy that we didn’t start researching about it until the new year started.
