This swimming hole is much easier to get to because it’s along the freeway & there is much more parking. Several groups just post up along the river. You can kind of see the flat area in the below photo & there are also a few benches & tables around the parking lot area. There are also stairs to get down to the river.
We didn’t hang out along the river under the bridge, but we did go to one of the trails that lead to Clark’s Swimming Hole. The trailhead to Clark’s Swimming Hole is a few feet away from the parking lot.
The trail to Clark’s Swimming Hole is 1.4 miles roundtrip & there is barely any shade! We didn’t bring sunscreen because we forgot, so don’t make the same mistake 🙃
The views along the way sure are beautiful though! 😍
Once we got to the swimming hole, there was not a lot of space for us to set our things. It’s definitely not the kind of spot where you can lay a large mat down. Best you can do is just lay down a beach towel to sit on.
There is a little island/rock you can swim to that you can kind of see in the below photo. The water is super cold, but I bet it would feel so refreshing had it been hotter. We were here around 4 PM, so maybe if we went earlier in the day or if it was triple digits, we’d probably be able to swim in it. There was a large group that arrived after us & blew up a raft to sit in. That might just work better here since the water is still/calm.
Also, the water really is this clear/green blue!
We would definitely want to go back there, but probably earlier in the day.
