Our Ninth Time Together at Disneyland
Jeremiah & I were talking about how we haven’t been to Disneyland during the holiday season for a while now. The last time we went to Disneyland during the holidays was in 2014, which may not seem like a long time, but it is if you love Disneyland like us!
After weeks of talking about how we miss Disneyland (we actually miss it all the time lol), Jeremiah & I decided to go for his birthday weekend.
We didn’t go right when the park opened because we both wanted to sleep in a bit.
Right when we got there, we always go to Carnation Cafe to have breakfast & coffee on Main Street, but we were told that it was reservation only specifically for that day. We were pretty bummed out about it (we’re still not Disneyland pros!), but we didn’t let that ruin our morning.
We had breakfast at The Plaza Inn, which surprisingly was a Breakfast with Minnie & Friends event. We took a photo with the lovely Minnie Mouse!
After breakfast, we took photos with the castle (of course) 🏰
& headed off to Adventureland to ride Indiana Jones. We stood in line for a while even though the ride had just broken down, but we were hopeful. After much waiting, they announced that the ride will be down indefinitely, so we left Adventureland.
& headed to Toontown! I expressed to Jeremiah over our recent Disneyland visits that I’ve never been to Toontown (yes, I know), so we decided to check it out!
Toontown was so cute, it felt like I was walking in a cartoon, but we didn’t stay there too long because we wanted to watch the Christmas Parade. We usually watch it on Main Street, but we were planning on checking out Mickey’s Magical Map in Fantasyland right after the parade, so we didn’t want to walk all the way back. We just stayed put & watched the parade in Fantasyland.
After the parade, we watched a show called Mickey’s Magical Map because I saw it on our way to Toontown & we were curious to check it out.
Overall, we loved it! I follow several Disney accounts on Instagram, but for some reason, I don’t think I’ve ever heard of this show. It’s definitely a must see! It’s also nice to just sit & take a break from all the walking, but also be entertained at the same time. The theatre is also shaded, so that’s a plus!
After Mickey’s Magical Map, we headed to an Alice in Wonderland ride because we wanted to try a ride that we’d never done before. The line & ride didn’t take long, but we left feeling unsatisfied with the ride. It just wasn’t our cup of tea, so it will be a hard pass from here on out.
After the Alice in Wonderland ride, we got dole whip, sat on Main Street, & ate it. Our favorite thing to do together.
After eating our dole whip, we waited in line at the Haunted Mansion, which was probably the longest line of the day.
After The Haunted Mansion, we rode Space Mountain & Indiana Jones (the ride went back up)!
& finally, making our way to Disney California Adventure.
We didn’t know about Disney California Adventure’s “Festival of the Holidays”. Had we known about the event, we probably would’ve park hopped there sooner to check it out.
They had all these various kinds of food vendors presenting little dishes from different cultures.
After munching on some food, we finally made our way to Toy Story Midway Mania!
& I won!!!!!!!!! So, right now, the score is 1-1 between us 😊
Ya girl also got the best in vehicle during this round 💁🏽♀️
After Toy Story Midway Mania, we got macarons & left Disney California Adventure.
The Fantasmic show was down for a while, but it came back a few months ago, so of course we had to see it! We skipped fireworks, The Cove Bar, & World of Color because we wanted to see the new Fantasmic.
We both loved it! It’s cool just seeing the characters do live action performances. It’s one of the reasons we enjoyed Mickey’s Magical Map so much.
After Fantasmic, we made our way out to the souvenir shops because Jeremiah wanted some new pins.
& finally, that was it for the day! It was a real short trip, but we made the most of it. I’m glad we tried new things this time around 💖
