Our Disneyland Favorites

Jeremiah & I collaborated on creating this list to display our favorite things at Disneyland 😊 I sometimes get asked which rides & places Jeremiah & I go to when we visit the parks, so maybe this list could help some of you out✌

Our Favorite Rides/Attractions

Disneyland

Haunted Mansion

We usually don’t do Haunted Mansion during the day. We usually ride it right before we watch the fireworks in front of the castle. We enjoy this ride the most during a holiday season because the park changes it up to suit the special occasion.

Space Mountain

We always try to do this, Indiana Jones Adventure, or Radiator Springs first because we want to avoid the long wait times. If we do another ride first, we’ll always try to get a fast pass for the other ones.

Peter Pan’s Flight

We try to do this around sunset or at night because a huge chunk of the line doesn’t have any shade. The wait time for this ride is usually long too, so we both think it’s best to do this when there’s no daylight.

Indiana Jones Adventure

This is my favorite Disney ride. We usually knock this ride out of the way early in the day because sometimes the wait time could be over an hour. We once arrived at the park when it opened & did this first. The wait time was only 30 minutes!

Disney California Adventure

Animation Academy – The Secrets of Drawing

If you’re ever tired of walking around in triple digit weather, like we’ve done (twice!), relax inside of Animation Academy. They have air conditioning. It also feels nice to take a break in there & do The Secrets of Drawing. You get to the chance to sit & sketch a Disney character.

Grizzly River Run

Jeremiah & I have never rode this together. I’ve done it once with my family. If you plan on going on this ride, it’s more fun with a group. Also, I suggest doing this sometime during the day because you could get wet & you’ll be able to dry off while walking around the park.

The Little Mermaid – Ariel’s Undersea Adventure

Ariel is my favorite Disney Princess, so we always ride Ariel’s Undersea Adventure.

Radiator Springs

We try to do this first or we try to get fast passes for it because the wait time for it is ALWAYS more than an hour. Food carts/restaurants are far, so you may get hungry while waiting. I suggest eating or getting a snack before you wait. Sometimes there’s a cart in the middle of the line, but I wouldn’t risk it.

Toy Story Midway Mania!

This is a favorite for both of us. We’re always super competitive whenever we go on this ride.

Our Favorite Photo Opportunities

Disneyland

The front of Disneyland

The Sleeping Beauty Castle

The Walt Disney & Mickey Statue

Pumpkin Mickey

Disney California Adventure

Mickey’s Fun Wheel/California Screamin’

Cars Land

Our Favorite Spots to Dine

Disneyland

Carnation Cafe

Eating breakfast here is the first thing we do once we get in. We normally sit outside since there’s enough shade. We enjoy eating & watching Main Street fill in with people.

Plaza Inn

We always dine here for lunch. We absolutely love this place. We always get two pieces of fried chicken, mashed potatoes, vegetables, & a biscuit. Sometimes we share because we can’t finish it all. I also think the meal here is worth the price because it really fills you up.

Disney California Adventure

Ariel’s Grotto

We’ve only eaten here once, but it was a great experience. We don’t plan on dining here often because reservations are required & it’s expensive. When we dined here, they had Disney Princess/Character Dining. The Disney Princesses surprised guests & took photos with everyone.
When we dined here, I got the Magical Star Cocktail & Red Oak-smoked Honey-Whiskey Barbecue Tri-Trip.

Cove Bar

We’ve been eating at the Cove Bar every single time we visit because 1. Alcohol & 2. We chill here to watch World of Color instead of sitting at the designated WOC section. We usually eat the sliders here & I once got the Lobster Nachos, but it was too much to eat by myself. Jeremiah can’t eat shellfish.
They also have a hidden menu for alcoholic drinks!

Our Favorite Snacks

Disneyland

Cafe Orleans

The only reason we go all the way to Cafe Orleans is for the Mint Juleps & Mickey Beignets. You can also get the Mickey Beignets at Downtown Disney, but they don’t have the Mint Juleps.

Tiki Juice Bar

We never leave Disneyland without getting the Pineapple Dole Whip at least once. Even if it’s cold, we still get it. It’s heaven in a cup.

Disney California Adventure

Cozy Cone Motel

We don’t often get anything at the Cozy Cone Motel. Sometimes Jeremiah will get ice cream or something. This is where you go to get the cone souvenir cup.

Clarabelle’s Hand Scooped Ice Cream

We’ve only had the Kitchen Sink once & once was enough. It was delicious, but way too sweet.

Turkey Leg/Corn Cart

Whenever we’re waiting in line at Toy Story Midway Mania!, we usually get a corn on the cob to munch on while we’re waiting.

Churro Carts (multiple locations)

Popcorn Carts (multiple locations)

Candy Apples (multiple locations)

Sometimes I’ll buy a candy apple at the end of the night as a souvenir before we leave the park.

Our Favorite Entertainment

Disneyland

City Hall – Special Occassion Buttons

Jeremiah & I only go to City Hall for the Special Occassion Buttons. Whenever we get the buttons, we usually do it right when we enter the park so we can walk around with them the whole day. So far, we have “Happy Anniversary” “Happy Birthday” & “Happily Ever After”. Whenever we get married, we’ll get the “Just Married” buttons 😆

Mickey’s Soundsational Parade

“Believe…In Holiday Magic” Fireworks Spectacular

The holiday fireworks are different than the non-seasonal one. We’ve only seen the holiday fireworks once & we got there early enough to get a seat right in front of the castle.

A Christmas Fantasy Parade

I loved the holiday theme parade. We arrived early & sat in the front on Main Street because I wanted to get a good view.

Fantasmic!

I don’t have any pictures of Fantasmic, but we usually watch it right after watching the Disneyland fireworks.

Fireworks at Disneyland (non-seasonal)

Frightfully Fun Parade

The Halloween themed parade was pretty cool, but I think I liked the Christmas Fantasy Parade more.

Disney California Adventure

World of Color (non-seasonal)

World of Color – Season of Light

During the holiday season, they change up the theme for World of Color. I don’t really remember, but I think it was Frozen themed when we last went.
