We parked in the designated parking lot, where, upon paying for parking, we received a sheet of coupons we could use throughout the Boardwalk.
There’s free parking around the area, which is a better option if you don’t want to pay & don’t mind walking far.
The first snack we had was the Tater Twists! It was our first time having it & it was so good! We actually liked it so much we got it twice 😅 It tastes just like Lay’s chips. There’s a condiment bar right next to the Tater Twists where you’ll find different sauces & spices to use.
The Boardwalk Sign
Out of all the times we’ve been to the Boardwalk, we never took a photo at the front. I made it a “must-do” this time around 😂
The first game we played was the Pong-A-Palooza which is basically beer pong. (tip: bounce the ball instead of throwing it). I didn’t get a prize, but Jeremiah did which was a small skull. We both agreed that the game is a little unfair because you have to make 10 cups in order to get an “extra large” prize 😐 The plush wasn’t even huge. We played this game twice after a couple of walks around the Boardwalk because Jeremiah really wanted a large Yoshi plush. However, he didn’t make as many cups, so he only got a medium Mario.
The Big Splash
In this game, if you make any of the ping pong balls inside of the colored flower cups, you win a prize. If you land a ping pong ball in any of the clear ones, you get 3 additional ping pong balls.
Jeremiah & I played this game twice, but we didn’t make anything the first time. Keep reading to find out what we won the second time!
Jeremiah & I used one of our coupons for our churros! They were fresh out of the fryer when we got them. There was steam coming from them & we had to wait a while before eating it. There’s options to get filling in them (chocolate, strawberry, caramel, etc.), but we settled on the classic churro.
Boardwalk Family Rides
Okay, if you’re still reading you have to promise not to laugh at what I’m about to say next. Ready? Okay…I didn’t know this area (pictured below) even existed 😭 I’ve lived in the Bay Area my entire life & have been to the Boardwalk multiple times with family, friends, & Jeremiah, but I didn’t even know this area was there! I saw it & I asked Jeremiah, “Wait, was this always here? There’s more rides here!”
Cave Train Adventure
Jeremiah & I went on Cave Train Adventure which is basically a little train ride that goes through a tunnel. It reminded me of the Indiana Jones ride at Disneyland, but less creepy. LOL. The seats are big enough to fit four people in each section.
Jeremiah & I also rode on the Sea Swings, which was a terrifying experience for me. LOL. I’m not good with rides 😭 This is a ride for kids too! They have a one-seater & two-seater so you have the option to sit alone or with someone. Jeremiah & I did the two-seater because I was terrified.
We also took these photos/film strip (pictured below) in a Photo Booth across from the Rock-O-Plane. The Photo Booth had different borders & other settings to choose from, & we chose one that resembled sea life.
The Big Splash
Jeremiah & I played this game again because I really wanted a prize. Jeremiah didn’t land on any colored cups, but I did! Whenever Jeremiah & I go to a fair, I always win the stuff for myself 😂 I landed on a red flowered cup, which was good enough for a medium prize. I won a purple whale unicorn; you can see it in the center (pictured below), but I got one in a smaller size.
I don’t remember the name of the cart, but the cart is right next to Tater Twists. The condiment bar for the roasted corn lacked utensils to spread sauces & spices on the corn, so I advise asking one of the restaurant employees for a plastic knife.
One of the other things we did was check out Neptune’s Kingdom. I don’t think I’ve ever been inside of the arcade at the Boardwalk. Ever. So Jeremiah & I checked it out & played a game of Skeeball, but we didn’t win anything.
I didn’t realize how huge the arcade was. There’s so many games & things to do. On the second floor, there’s a couple of pool tables, air hockey tables, & a bar. You can also play mini golf inside.
We didn’t ride this, but it reminded me of the “Delirium” ride at Great America.

The Boardwalk Thanks You For Your Visit
Our Prizes & Instax Photos
These are the three prizes we won. I love my whale unicorn 😊 We also took a couple of Instax photos for our photo album.
We both wanted to play more games, but we didn’t like the prizes. We both didn’t want to spend money on games that didn’t have any cool prizes to take home. We wanted to do bumper cars, but we didn’t find it. Maybe using the map would help 😅 There was one bumper car ride called “Space Race”, but the steering looked weird.
We also didn’t get two snacks that we planned on eating. We wanted the Deep Fried Nutella, Deep Fried Smuckers, & a caramel apple. We were just so full from all the other food that we didn’t get them, but we’ll definitely get them next time!
I mentioned that it was our fourth time together at the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk, so I wanted to show our memories from the past few times we’ve been there together.
Our Third Time Together at the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk
March 9, 2015
I took the day off from work because it was my Dad’s death anniversary & I said I wanted to go anywhere, so we went to the Boardwalk & chilled on the beach. We also checked out the pier. I think a couple of places were open on the Boardwalk, but I can’t remember.
Our Second Time Together at the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk
April 10, 2014
The second time Jeremiah & I went to the Boardwalk was with my family. My sister drove us out for the day, but we mostly hungout on the beach instead of walking around the Boardwalk.
