Early Valentine’s & Congratulatory Celebration

Jeremiah & I spent Valentine’s Day early starting with the SFGFanFest that you can read about here.
I also made a photo collage of how we’ve spent our Valentine’s over the years πŸ’•
In 2012, we went to the Monterey Bay Aquarium & this was our first Valentine’s Day together. I never had a Valentine prior to him, so this was a really big deal to me at the time! haha. I wish I had taken more photos, but I was extremely shy. I had a digital point & shoot, but I was shy to ever use it because I thought he might think that I’m doing ‘the most’. Me, the over-thinker. We didn’t spend the actual day going out on a date because he had class, so we celebrated it the week after.
In 2013, he surprised me with roses at work & an iPad. I was working late, so we went to dinner at Yard House & checked out the scenery at Communication Hills since we both heard it was nice there.
In 2014, he had work in the morning, but he surprised me with Edible Arrangements delivered to my home. If you know me, you knowΒ how much I love fruits, so the surprise was perfect. Once he came home from work, he continued to surprise me with a card, gift cards to Sephora & Victoria’s Secret, & Nike flyknits. I got him a pair of Jordans I think. I can’t remember which once. So much thought was put into all the surprises, so we kept it simple for our date. We had dinner at Elephant Bar & watched The Lego Movie.
In 2015, I wasn’t expecting this to happen at all, but he surprised me by taking me on a cruise on the San Francisco Bay. It was a 3-course meal, live music/entertainment, photo op, complimentary champage/glasses/chocolate, & we got to go outside on the deck once we were up close to the Golden Gate Bridge.
In 2016, we planned months ahead of time that we didn’t want to do anything big for Valentine’s Day because we wanted to save up for a vacation. Jeremiah still surprised me with a card & balloons. I think I even said, “Hey, I thought we’re not supposed to get each other anything?!” He must’ve said something like, “Well, it’s only a card & balloons.” We just went to the Legion of Honor museum in San Francisco.

This year, I surprised him with a pair of shoes that he mentioned liking, a card, & balloons! He wasn’t expecting anything at all because we both want to ease away from splurging on this day, but I really wanted to surprise him & congratulate him on his recent blessings 😘

& he got me these little goodies

We wanted to keep Valentine’s a more chill event, so we attended the San Francisco Giant’s Fan Fest this past Saturday. We’ve been trying to go for years, but we always either had work, something else planned, or we were out of town. I’m glad we were finally able to go. You can read about our experience here.
